Five Months with Hunter

How in the world is my Hunter baby 5 months old?? She is such a joy to Mason and I. I think we say it at least once a day to each other how blessed we feel to be her parents. She is such a happy little girl! She is ALWAYS smiling except for these pictures.. lol it was actually really funny. She absolutely refused to smile. Mason and I were pulling out our best tricks to get this little girlie to smile and nothing was working. We finally gave up and put down the camera. As soon as the camera was up, guess what? Girlfriend was ALL SMILES!! We were laughing so hard. We ended up getting the camera back out and caught a few smiles! She doesn’t have her little bottoms on in some of the pictures because we took them off since she wouldn’t smile but then what do you know?? She loves to be a nakey girl at home lately! No clothes life is the best life??

Hunter is a chatterbox!!! She is constantly babbling. She chats and yells and sings! Her little noises that she makes are the cutest!!! I love just chatting with her. I love to stop and talk with her during the day while I’m working because she gets so excited and just tells me all about her day! Bed time is one of my favorite times because Hunter is the sweetest. She just cuddles so well. We like to sing to her while she is falling asleep and lately when she is fighting her sleep, she sings back and it just melts our hearts.

She is still going through her sleep regression. This has not been fun! She wakes up at least twice a night, most of the time more than that. Typically she will wake up around 3 AM and not want to go back to sleep! She will start singing and hitting me in the face repeatedly 😁 It’s kinda cute but I’m also so tired that it drives me crazy! She just flails her arms around trying her hardest to not go back to sleep. We don’t swaddle her arms anymore since she can roll over so she loves to throw them around when she is super tired. Speaking of rolling over, Mason and I both saw her roll over for the first time!! It was the best and so exciting! We were both cheering for her so hard and she just kept rolling over. It was so fun and we got it on video!

Hunter has absolutely no interest in crawling. She tolerates tummy time.. barely! She is so strong though. She can support some weight on her legs with us helping her. If she is holding on to the edge of the couch (with us right behind her of course) she can stand for short periods of time! This is so crazy to us. She is only 5 months old and can support herself!! Obviously she isn’t fully standing on her own but she is so strong! It’s also really funny because she won’t sit up by herself. She tries really hard but then falls over. We are working on it!

Hunter’s new favorite things are the animals!! She has developed such an interest in the cats and Winston (our dog). Whenever they walk into the room, she cannot take her eyes off of them. She reaches out to try to touch them. We will guide her hand to let her pet them and she gets so excited! She loves Winston!! He LOVES to lick her little feet, really anywhere that he can sneak a lick, he does! The other day Winston was laying right by Hunter and she was “petting” him and I looked down and she had a huge chunk of his fur! He was not phased by it one bit and she was so pleased with herself. I had to grab the fur really quick because it was headed straight to her mouth. Two of our cats are really in love with Hunty. They try to cuddle her all the time and rub their heads on her it’s just the sweetest!
