Rebecca Minkoff Gingham Top - Blonde in the Burbs

Summer has arrived in Houston in full force. I actually had no intention of wearing my hair up for this outfit BUT the 90 degree Texas heat got the best of me. I started the day with curled hair and I thought I used enough hair spray to last me the entire day. I was wrong. By the time we were shooting this look, my hair was almost straight, so much for taking the extra time to curl my hair. I told Mason before we started shooting that I just needed to throw my hair up in a messy bun really quick. This is a running joke because I am the WORST at messy buns, once in a blue moon, I can create one that looks halfway decent. It takes me like 10 tries and then I usually end up just putting my hair in a ponytail anyways. Mason was joking that we would be sitting in the car for about 30 more minutes while I attempted a messy bun. I think the universe was working in my favor because I actually got a decent messy bun on the first try. This was a huge win for me y’all. I was so careful not to mess it up afterwards which is so silly because it’s a messy bun but I was so excited I did it on the first try.

This Rebecca Minkoff top is so perfect for summer! It is super light and airy which is a necessity on hot days. I had been really wanting a gingham print top and I found this one and knew it was the one. The ruffles are so girly and cute. I think the ruffles make this top. I paired this top with shorts but it would also be perfect with jeans. It could be dressed up with the right pair of jeans and a pair of heels. I wore this to dinner with Mason and wanted to wear it the next day too. I love finding clothes that I can’t wait to wear again. I love the light blue color, it would be so perfect for a summer baby shower. Thanks so much for reading!
